In order to protect persons who participate in research projects, the CSSS-IUGS ensures that all research involving human subjects is submitted to an ethics committee for approval. Research projects must also pass an examination for their scientific relevance and quality.
The ethic committee is composed of experts and representatives from the general population who carefully assess the benefits and inconveniences of research projects on their participants. The committee make sure that the research projects will have little or no negative effects on the health and well-being of participants. Click here to consult the list of members.
