The CSSS-IUGS offers many services which are intended to reduce the number of hospitalizations and emergency room visits by persons suffering from chronic pulmonary diseases.

1. Education centre for persons suffering from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease :
- One-on-one meetings
- Education about both the disease and taking medication
2. COPD network (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) :
- Group meetings at the CSSS-IUGS
- Education about both the disease and taking medication
- Personalized action plan prepared by the attending physician
- Follow-up by phone or home visits as required
Services are provided by respiratory therapists who are specially trained in medications (desired effects and side-effects, administration methods, efficacy, etc.) and environmental control (allergens, heating, tobacco, etc.).
- Clientele
- Persons diagnosed with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who have recently undergone a respiratory function test.
