World Breastfeeding Week 2015

The theme of World Breastfeeding Week 2015 is Breastfeeding and Work: Let's Make It Work! Held in more than 170 nations, World Breastfeeding Week aims to promote breastfeeding to improve the health of infants globally. The objective is to open discussions about breastfeeding and to exchange information on this important topic.

Public Activities

Participate in the Breastfeeding Challenge!

Date: Saturday, October 3, 2015
Time: 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Location: Central mall of Carrefour de l’Estrie

A grand gathering is being held in which mothers can collectively breastfeed their infants. The objective is to get as many mothers to nurse their infants at the same time. The countdown begins at 11 a.m.

Information booths will be open to inform the public about local and regional breastfeeding resources and organizations which provide support to families.

Special Bébé-trucs Workshop

Date: Wednesday, October 7, 2015
Time: 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Location: Édifice 500, rue Murray, room 0111

A special Bébé-trucs workshop is being held to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week. Agenda:

  • Breastfeeding quiz games;
  • A PowerPoint presentation to help mothers so that they can continue nursing their children once they go back on the labour market;
  • A contest and the opportunity to win a $100 gift certificate.
