World Elder Abuse Awareness Day

June 9th, 2015

  • Being humiliated, threatened, discriminated against.
  • Having money taken away, being pressured to give an inheritance.
  • Being treated impatiently, infantilized, brutalized.

Those are just a few examples of elder abuse.

Wear a purple ribbon to commemorate this day!

The purple ribbon is worn to raise awareness of elder abuse which sometimes strikes those who are close to us.

In Sherbrooke, some 6,000 purple ribbons are distributed by organizations and in public spaces.
